Seaside

We're back!! 2 weeks ago today the kids and I left for Seaside, Oregon with my parents, brother and his family. We spent 5 days there, Mitch joined us in the middle and then the 6 of us hit the road, Highway 101 from there. Lots of adventures, funny moments, countless pit stops, swimming pools and "where are we going next", we survived our first really big road trip. Not bad with four kids, one being two. It feels good to be home. Love driving up to home after being gone. Don't love the laundry and catch up, but still love coming home. Now it is back to reality, well for the most part. Today is my birthday and I have decided to give myself a Grace Day. As much of a Grace Day a mom can have anyway. Noah and Anya surprised me at lunchtime with sandwiches, awesome. We are planning on swimming in a little while with Grandma Cynthia at Bonnie's. Mitch's mom and dad are having us for dinner so I don't need to worry about "what's for dinner?" even, major bonus. Yesterday we had a fantastic birthday lunch at my parents house. After being absent for awhile I now have information overload. So, I'll start from the beginning...Seaside.

the cousins

The boys were all about the holes this year. They started digging their hole as soon as we got there and kept going back everyday. It's amazing how much time was spent digging.

Papa helping Will get his Darth Vader kite flying.

Lulu and her ice cream

Silly Emmy and her ice cream cone (she reminds me so much of her dad with all her silliness).

Lucy on the Promenade

Uncle Noah burying the girls' feet

Emmy and Lucy in one of their "love" moments. It can go one way or the other with these two right now, no middle ground. Sydney's the referee.

Nana and Papa and the Grandkids

I love this picture, Emmy is telling Eli all about it, and he is definitely listening.

The swings on the beach are a fave with all.

Sam finds sand dollars at the seashore.

Oh it was a happy day when daddy joined us. Everyone was so happy he was there. Thank you to my dad for coming with me to pick him up in Kelso at the train station...it was an adventure let me tell you! In this picture we were watching a solid line of birds flying as far as you could see right above the water. It was pretty amazing.

A great, memorable year in Seaside. Lots of bumper car rides, catch phrase (oh to be a fly on the wall when we break out this game), food and fun. The house we stayed in had a hot tub this year, which was perfect after the coolness of the beach. Looking forward to next year already. Off to swim, more later...
