"Dig a duck, dig a duck, dig a gooey duck. Dig a duck, dig a gooey duck, dig a duck a day!" Lots of gooey ducks at the bay. That song always goes through my head at Birch Bay. It's from my 6th grade musical. I was a gooey duck dancer. It's weird the things that stick with ya over the years. Anyway, a week and a half ago I took the kids to the Bay on one of those really hot days. It was probably the most relaxing, nicest afternoon I have ever had with the kids! I actually even read some. They had so much fun playing, swimming, building and laying in the sun. Lucy loved just laying on her tummy in the shallow water. Sydney collected shells. Once they got over the seaweed and muck they had a blast. We were there for about 2 1/2 hours by ourselves and then Anya and the kids, who were at a friends house at Birch Bay, found us. And then my mom and dad popped in for awhile after some appointments in
Bellingham too. The weather was perfect and everyone was happy.

Sydney found some seaweed for the boys to use on their castle.

Sydney's catch of the day.
By the time we left the tide had made its way in and we had to quick move our stuff. We were muddy, sandy and seaweedy! We came home and went in the sprinkler to rinse off. We hope to make it back to the bay again before summer is over!
