Whistler 2011

The beginning of August we went to Whistler for a few days.  The last time we were there was the summer Sam was 3 and Will 1 1/2.  They called the Gondola the Gondola Choo Choo.  Back then you could buy your gondola pass and it was good for the whole day.  We went up 3-4 times that day.  Sam remembers it and was excited to go back.  Things have changed a bit-now you get one ride up-spend as much time up there as you want-do the peak to peak as many times as you want-but once you're down your down.  The peak to peak is new though and that is quite impressive.  We had beautiful weather and it is absolutely gorgeous up there.

The Luge...

Will was speedy-didn't slow down for the corners at all.  He even fell off his sled one time down.  Sam was a bit more cautious on the corners.  Lucy wasn't big enough for the Luge, she was a bit put out.  So she was the first one for the bungee trampoline.  The girl had no fear.   She hopped up there and was ready to go.  Almost like she was an old pro.

The guy kept asking her if she wanted to go higher with each bounce and she would just give him a nod.

 She loved it-the little daredevil!

Sydney loved it going up...not looking quite as sure on the way down.
Will started out doing flips right away.  Mr. Trapeze himself.
Sam enjoyed a leisurely bounce.
We took the gondola up the mountain and just as we were leaving the village we spotted a bear and her cub.  They were right next to the bike trails.

Sydney quietly asked Sam if he would hold her hand, she told him she was a little bit afraid of heights.
Top of the mountain.  We did the peak to peak with glass bottom gondola-gorgeous.  Then the boys and Mitch took the open chair to the tippy top.

If you haven't been to Whistler in the summertime I highly recommend it.  We spent a lot of time in the pool-it was warm and sunny and the mountains are incredible.  You can even go walk around in the snow at the top of the mountain.  A little bit of everything.
