American Girls

There was a lot of anticipation in our house this summer for the opening of the American Girl store in Lynnwood.  So we went with friends to check it out before school started.  Last Christmas Grandma had given Sydney the Ruthie doll (Kit's best friend) and Lulu a bitty baby(she calls Addy).  We heard it was going to be HUGE.  It is big, but I thought it would be bigger.  I also thought they would have some of the retired historical dolls and accessories on display...probably need to go to Chicago for that.  It is very cool though.  The girls were overwhelmed.  We told them they could each pick one outfit or accessory for their doll.  It was so hard to choose.  The older two ended up both picking a Hawaiian outfit.  Lulu went with a cupcake birthday set.  Lucy was also busy trying to decide which doll she is going to choose when she gets "big enough".  She is leaning towards Julie (1970s) because she has " Rapunzel hair".  There is also a doll hair salon and a restaurant.  The restaurant is tiny, hence the need for reservations, but very adorable, think pink.  The food itself was good and reasonably priced.  The kicker is the dolls get their own booster Treat Seat along with their own plate, cup etc.  A little over the top, maybe even a bit creepy but the girls loved it.  A bit of a racket, yes, but the girls were in little girl heaven and enjoyed their day.
