Happy Valentine's Day...a day late

Happy Valentine's Day!
I started this post yesterday, got interrupted and never made it back to finish. So here it is a day late. We made our Valentine's this year. Sydney and I (and Lucy) had fun putting them together. We were thrilled with how they turned out. These girls like to craft!

We went simple with the boys. They were happy with them.

We had pork spare ribs with huli huli sauce, Hawaiian rice and salad for our Valentine's dinner. Lucy and I surprised everybody and made sour cherry pie for dessert. Daddy's absolute favorite!

Lucy just couldn't resist those bright red cherries.

Did I mention they are sour?!?

Don't let the face fool you...she loves them! Can't help herself, sour or not, she kept going back for more.
That was our last bag of cherries from the freezer, we've lost our cherry source (they moved). We either need to find a new source or plant our own tree. Anybody have any leads/ins on pie cherries? They just don't compare to the canned/store bought cherries. The color is even so much brighter. The pie was delicious.
Today my brother came over and helped (actually he did it all) me prune the apple trees. It's handy having an ex-landscaper in the family, he really knows what he's doing. Last year Will's tree had over 20 apples on it so it has a reputation to live up to. We're hoping for another big crop. Noah also pruned the dogwood tree, walked by, noticed a few suckers and started clipping away. One thing leads to another. They look great! We can cross that off the to do list. Thank you Noah!
