Last Friday the kids didn't have school for a teacher work day. We had 4 tickets to the Husky vs. Arizona basketball game. We decided we hadn't done anything fun as a family in awhile so we'd all go. We picked the boys up from school Thursday and were Seattle bound. We ate dinner and then Mitch and the boys met up with Adam and went to the game. The girls and I stayed at the hotel and went swimming, played games, and colored. The girls were so excited to swim. Lucy has been getting her suits out lately asking to go swimming. We stayed at Embassy suites since they'll accommodate all six of us in one room. The cooked to order complimentary breakfast is a bonus too. The kids love the pool there, that little waterfall makes it for them. I will say the pool was frigid though, not exaggerating, it was cold. The kids didn't mind though, we just swam until their lips were blue and then hit the hot tub.

Friday afternoon we went to see the Fremont troll. Sam had read about the troll in a
Boxcar Children Mysteries book. At the time he had asked us if there really was a troll and has been wanting to see it since. They thought it was worthy of the stop. Lucy had fallen and gotten a fat lip right before leaving the hotel and hadn't bounced back quite yet.

It was dreary and wet. We decided to go see an
IMAX at the Seattle Center. We all agreed
The Ultimate Wave Tahiti sounded good. We spent 45 minutes basking and surfing in the Tahitian sun through our 3D glasses. After that it was back to realty of the Pacific Northwest. But we did hit sit down Dicks in Queen Anne for lunch. Then we slowly started making our way back north. A super mini
vacay but if felt good to get away, if only for a day.

To the pool in black socks for Mitchell? Seems about right.
