"The Honda" Drives Away

Last week Mitch bought a new car, well new to us and much newer than the Honda. Last night we watched "The Honda" drive away for the last time. Well, I'm sure we will see it around, but it's no longer ours. Anya's brother Andrew, who turns sixteen in November, bought it for his very first car. "Super!" Oh the excitement of the first car! With 180 some thousand miles it probably has at least another 100,000 left in it, it is a Honda after all. It's been a good, faithful, cheap car for us for 11 years! Mitch says, "It was TIME"! Time to move on that is. Let me just reminisce for a minute though. This 1990 dark gray Honda was the first car we bought as a married couple. It moved to Nashville with us. There it brought us on many a weekend road trip...down the Natchez Trace, Memphis, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina etc...It is the car we brought Sam home from the hospital in. It has been broken into twice and stolen one of those times, only to be found running, in gear with the emergency break on in the Northgate parking lot! It has gotten Mitch to and from work faithfully for nearly 8 1/2 years. It'll take some getting used to not seeing Mitch pull up in the Honda! Not so much for him maybe. So with that I say a final goodbye. It's truly the end of an era!

Farewell!
