"She's Your One"

"She's your one." That was the Dr.'s response when we told him she was the youngest of four and the only one so far to need stitches. "Every family has one, the one who seems to get all the injuries, it looks like she might be yours." We had this discussion when we were in the ER. We went back to see the plastic surgeon yesterday and Lucy fell and hit the toy bin in the room, not phasing her of course. He looked at me and he said "she's a tough one". Well the follow up went okay. It's healing but it's got a hard lump under the skin. Harder than he would like to see. So he gave us some special ointment and wants to see her back in a month. If the lump has not improved or if it stays the same he wants to do some steroid shots to try to break it up. Ouch! I am blogging this now so that it is officially on record and one day Lucy will be able to read this and have know doubt in her mind that we did absolutely everything we could to make sure she would have as little scar as possible. Good Grief! Here are pictures from a couple days after with the stitches in and then now. It's definitely improving. It looks pretty minor for all the hassle. I know, I know, in the grand scheme of things it is minor, very very minor.
