Meeting Madden

The day Madden came home is a day the kids will always remember...the day they finally got their dog! It was a big surprise, they had no idea! It just happened to be the same day as Will's birthday party, so Nana and Papa, Grandpa and Grandma, Uncle Noah and Auntie Anya and the cousins were all here for the excitement. The party had started but where in the world was daddy? Oh and Uncle Adam was supposed to be here too, where was he? They arrived just before we were going to start eating. We told the kids to meet them in the back yard...




Sydney came out and said to Uncle Adam, "Is that your dog? There's a dog. Is it a wild dog? It's a wild dog!" Then Adam told her it was her dog and she went ballistic, running around, We have a dog! We have a dog!" I heard Will say, "I think I'm dreaming!" Sam said something similar. Lucy said, "It's Madden!" You see the kids had Madden picked out as their dog's name. It came from Lucy always wanting to play doggies with the boys. The boys would be the dog "Madden". She would say, "Let's play Madden." We think she came up with Madden because she would hear the boys ask each other if they wanted to "play Madden" the video football game. She turned this into her own game since she never heard the boys turn down "playing Madden". The name stuck! So it was only natural for Lucy to take one look at her new puppy and call him Madden. They have each taken on a particular role with him too. Sam is all about training him and getting him to do what he wants him to do. Will is the playful buddy and wants to be the one to feed him. Sydney is the groomer and all around loving caretaker. Lucy is his new litter mate. He plays with her like he did with his brothers and sisters. Thank you Uncle Adam for going all the way to Moses Lake with daddy to pick up Madden!
